About FinchCalc

FinchCalcis a collection of free calculators and file tools built around one idea: useful tools shouldn't demand an account, watermark your work, cap your usage, or quietly upload your files to someone else's server.

Who builds it

FinchCalc is built and maintained by Joey Rasmussen, an independent software developer. I make small, privacy-first web tools that each do one job well, and I run this site as a solo project rather than a company. If a calculator looks wrong or a tool is missing, there is a real person to email about it, and that person is me.

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you convert an image, the conversion happens on your own device using your browser's built-in image engine — the file never travels anywhere. When you calculate a mortgage payment or estimate take-home pay, the math runs locally and your numbers are never transmitted or stored.

How the numbers are sourced

The finance calculators are built on documented, sourced data. The paycheck calculator, for example, uses the official 2026 federal tax brackets from IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 and states exactly which taxes it includes and excludes. When a tool has limits — like covering federal but not state taxes — the page says so plainly instead of pretending otherwise.

That said, these calculators are for general information and estimation only. They are not financial, tax, or legal advice, and they cannot account for the full details of your personal situation. For decisions that matter, check the results against an official source or a qualified professional.

How it stays free

The site is supported by advertising, which is why the tools can stay free without accounts or upsells. Ads never appear inside a tool while you're using it, and because your files and figures never leave your device, advertisers never see them.
